Matthew Barrett serves as senior pastor of Fellowship Baptist Church in Riverside, CA. Barrett holds a B.A. from Biola University, an M.Div. in Christian Ministry from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, as well as a Ph.D. in systematic theology from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He is also Assistant Professor of Christian Studies at California Baptist University, as well as the founder and executive editor of Credo Magazine. Dave Burdett has been a Bible teacher at Woodcrest Christian School for nearly four decades. He has also demonstrated his passion for teaching God’s Word in many contexts at Fellowship Baptist Church. He has served in leadership at the church, first as a Deacon and then as an Elder, for many years. Dave graduated from Westmont College and Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, and also studied under I. Howard Marshall at the University of Aberdeen, Scotland. He and his wife have four sons, all of whom have finished college and are married.
Earl Straw has been at FBC with his wife, Nora, since October, 2011. They have been married 28 years. Earl retired from Pacific Bell after 31 years. Earl was born in Covina, CA. and has been a believer since 1971. He earned an Bachelor of Arts in Christian Education at Azusa Pacific College and looks forward to the Lord’s service at this time. Nora is a Registered Nurse, working with young mothers and their babies. They have two married daughters and one grand daughter. They love being with their FBC family and serve with Awana, Nursery, and Tuesday Life group. Earl enjoys reading , gardening, exterminating gophers, movies, house repairs, going to restaurants, and staying away from sports.
Although Sal was raised Catholic, he confessed Jesus as Lord and Savior in 1994 when he converted to Christianity. He loves the Lord and enjoys serving as an elder, shepherding the people of God and seeing them grow in their knowledge of the Scriptures and their love for Christ and the gospel. Sal enjoys spending time with his family and teaching the children and youth during the Sunday school hour and during children’s church. Sal and his wife have been married for over 25 years and they have one son and one daughter who have also trusted in Jesus Christ alone for their salvation. Sal and his family have been at Fellowship Baptist Church since 2000.
